frequently asked questions
Is there a structure to the event?
boogie-babies is a family event, there is no structure, just a fun atmosphere to ensure you have a great time with your child. Children love to dance and party, and we aim to encourage this in an environment that the grown up’s will also enjoy. The DJ plays feel-good tunes to get the grown ups and little ones dancing and moving, and we make the most of the disco lights and glitter balls of the nightclub! We have balloons to enjoy, play scarves and a chill-out space with pillows, tents and books. The bar is open serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks for non-driving adults. Each event offers face painting, children's nail polishing, FREE beauty treatments, dance demo's by local dance students, tuck shop googies and dancing with our very own Boogie BEAR.
What ages is this event for?
We created boogie-babies for kids from 6 months - 7 years and their friends and family. Older/younger siblings, grandparents, nanny and best friend are all invited. Consider the following - does your child like music, lights, dancing and being around others? There are plenty of ways a child can enjoy boogie-babies from finding a new friend and hanging out in the chill-out area, to dancing the afternoon away. The event is aimed to allow parents and young children to have a fun and hip time together.
Who needs a ticket?
Anyone from the age of 6 months onwards requires their own ticket (all adults and children). Only infants less than 6 months old are free.
Do I need to come with a child?
YES! We cannot allow any adults to enter boogie-babies events without a child, no exception!
What time do I need to come? Do we have to come at the beginning of the event?
The event is scheduled to last three hours to allow for various nap times, lunch times and other afternoon activities - you should come when its best for you and your family. You may certainly stay for the whole three hours or as long as you wish.
What if I don’t like to dance in public?
This is the perfect time to face your fear – there will be plenty of little kids that will think you are the best dancer in the world.
Is a nightclub the right sort of environment for children?
Absolutely! They love the disco lights and atmosphere. The music is played at a softer level than for an adult event (at 80 decibels - which is considered a safe level for little ears) and the lighting is soft but not pitch black.
As a parent you must take responsibility for your child and keep them in view at all times, as it is a large area and there will be many people at the event.
